Head of Technology

SUMMARY:
My client who is a world class organization is currently looking for a Head of Technology candidate for their head office. Successful candidate must be ambitious and ready to lead the team. This will be a strategic role and it also comes with a performance bonus.

POSITION INFO:

Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating the Shared Services Technical teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering to the business and its clients in an agile and lean way (with lean business mind-set)..

Education:

• Tertiary degree: BSc in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred

Formal technology management qualification and experience.

Skills:

• Cloud solution migration experience (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Experience in cloud PAAS and IAAS offerings like storage, functions, queues, web apps, docker or kubernetes.
• Ten years related IT experience with a proven track record of which five years of experience must have been spent at a senior management level within the information Technology environment.
• Working with teams that might not be co-located permanently.
• Prior experience in a lean business environment highly advantageous.
• Platform technology conceptualisation and management, a minimum of three years.
• Large system development and integration, a minimum of five years.
• Experience in controlling the full IT budget.
• Experienced in creating and maintaining IT strategies, in line with stakeholder needs and in keeping up with current best practice in the field of IT.
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems/ infrastructure and relevant specifications.
• Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing relationships with suppliers and contractors.
