INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

SUMMARY:
Seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Engineer in the East Rand area.

POSITION INFO:

Manage the industrial engineering team of two sites in the East Rand area, in order to optimise efficiencies through the implementation and managing of production philosophies, review adjustment and implementation of processes, the use of technology and the identification of deficiencies in the production process. Identifying production needs including equipment and staff with the aim of continue improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

◼ Oversee the industrial engineering department, including chrono analyst.

◼ Work closely with sister companies to transfer production methodologies, processes and procedures and reporting templates.

◼ Responsible for the review of production capacity and ensuring the current needs are aligned with the labour available.

◼ Responsible of all capex investments for both sites.

◼ Coordinate all new buildings layouts and constructions.

◼ Implementation of Operations Committee.

◼ Lead the team

◼ Implement new technologies with focus in productivity and payback.

◼ Execution of various production methodologies Management System (WMS).

◼ Check and monitoring the process Work closely with WTD in transferring processes and procedures from WTD to WTA. Implement a chrono analyst department to perform the time studies which will be applied in the cost department.

◼ Review investigate and motivate the purchasing of capital equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

◼ Diploma on Industrial Engineering or higher.

◼ Deep knowledge of production philosophies.

◼ Minimum of five years’ experience on industrial engineering position in a manufacturing company whose production line is not limited to standard lines.

Special Requirements

◼ A legal driving licence.

◼ Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

◼ Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communication and making presentations.

◼ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

◼ A sense of urgency with a strong customer service orientation.

◼ Willingness and freedom to travel extensively, including frequent overnight stays away from home base.

◼ Hard working, resourceful, ambitious with excellent business acumen.

◼ Punctual. The ability to drive the implementation of new ideas and processes in the company.

Working Conditions

◼ From time to time, the position requires out of town travel.

◼ Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.

◼ Required to attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
