Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is looking for an experienced IT Auditor to join their Internal Audit team, this a permanent opportunity based in Sandton. (Hybrid)

We are looking for an IT Audit professional with genuine hands-on IT Audit experience and a strong understanding of technology risks, controls and audit methodologies. The ideal candidate will have solid experience across IT General Controls (ITGC) and Application Controls, together with the ability to assess IT risks, determine appropriate audit testing and communicate audit findings clearly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting IT audit engagements, evaluating the effectiveness of technology controls, identifying control weaknesses and providing meaningful audit conclusions and recommendations to management.

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Plan and execute IT audit engagements in accordance with the organisation's audit methodology. Assist with determining the scope and approach of IT audit assignments based on identified risks. Perform IT risk assessments and identify key technology risks and control areas. Evaluate IT risks, controls and governance frameworks and identify opportunities for improvement. Perform IT General Controls (ITGC) assessments and testing. Perform Application Controls testing. Assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls. Assess technology infrastructure, systems, databases and operating environments. Conduct audits relating to information security, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and technology risk. Apply data analytics and\/or Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) where appropriate. Prepare audit planning documentation, system descriptions, walkthroughs, process flow diagrams, RACMs and audit test procedures. Perform audit testing and maintain accurate, complete and high-quality working papers. Obtain and evaluate appropriate audit evidence to support audit conclusions. Identify control weaknesses and document audit findings clearly and accurately. Explain audit findings to relevant stakeholders and support appropriate audit conclusions. Contribute to the preparation of audit reports and recommendations. Engage with business and technology stakeholders throughout the audit process. Follow up on outstanding audit findings and agreed management actions. Provide regular updates on audit progress, risks and potential delays. Build and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders and other assurance providers. Keep up to date with developments in IT audit, technology, cybersecurity, governance and risk management. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of audit methodologies and processes. What we are looking for: Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Auditing, Auditing or a related field. 4+ years' experience in IT Auditing across a broad range of IT audit activities. Genuine IT Audit experience - essential. Strong IT General Controls (ITGC) experience - essential. Strong Application Controls experience - essential. Strong foundational auditing knowledge. Ability to identify and assess IT risks. Ability to understand controls and determine appropriate audit testing. Ability to evaluate audit evidence and reach appropriate conclusions. Ability to explain audit findings clearly and confidently to stakeholders. Experience with audit planning, testing, documentation, reporting and follow-up. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
