Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is looking for an experienced Senior IT Auditor to join their Internal Audit team. This is a permanent opportunity based in Sandton. (Hybrid)

We are looking for an IT Audit professional who can operate at a Team Lead / Supervisor level and take ownership of audit engagements beyond simply executing audit testing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical audit knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to review audit work, guide other IT Auditors and engage confidently with stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and supporting IT audit engagements, assessing technology risks and controls, reviewing audit files, identifying control weaknesses and providing meaningful insights to management. This role is particularly suited to someone who can step into an existing team, provide practical support and help strengthen both audit quality and delivery.

POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Plan, execute and finalise IT audit engagements in accordance with the organisation's audit methodology. Take ownership of assigned audit engagements and ensure delivery within agreed timelines. Assist with determining the scope and approach of IT audit assignments based on identified risks. Perform IT risk assessments and assess the effectiveness of technology controls. Evaluate IT risks, controls and governance frameworks and provide recommendations for improvement. Perform and review IT General Controls (ITGC) assessments. Perform and review Application Controls testing. Assess technology infrastructure, systems, databases and operating environments. Conduct audits relating to information security, cybersecurity, IT controls and technology risk. Apply data analytics and\/or Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) where appropriate. Prepare and review audit planning documentation, system descriptions, walkthroughs, process flow diagrams, RACMs and audit test procedures. Perform audit testing and ensure high-quality working papers and supporting evidence. Review audit files and working papers prepared by other IT Auditors. Provide constructive review notes and guidance to improve audit quality. Identify control weaknesses, document audit findings and contribute to audit reporting. Engage with business and technology stakeholders to communicate findings and agree appropriate remediation actions. Provide regular progress updates to Audit Management. Monitor audit timelines, deliverables and outstanding actions. Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to other IT Auditors. Assist with workload management and support the existing audit team where required. Follow up on outstanding audit findings and management actions. Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and other assurance providers. Keep abreast of developments in IT audit, technology, cybersecurity, governance and risk management. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of audit methodologies, processes and quality standards. What we are looking for: Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Auditing, Auditing or a related field. Completed CISA certification - essential. Strong and proven IT Audit experience . Strong IT General Controls (ITGC) experience - essential. Strong Application Controls experience - essential. Strong foundational auditing knowledge. Previous experience reviewing the work of other IT Auditors. Previous Supervisory \/ Team Lead experience. Proven ability to take ownership of IT audit engagements. Experience reviewing audit files and providing constructive feedback. Ability to guide, coach and support other IT Auditors. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience with audit planning, risk assessment, testing, documentation, reporting and follow-up. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex audit findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
