IT Finance Clerk – Century City, Cape Town – R12,000 – R15,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Urgently seeking a Finance Clerk who has experience in the IT / ISP industry to start as soon as possible.

The Finance Clerk is responsible for processing all documents for clients and suppliers.

Debt collections within the Accounts receivable, and processing payments for accounts payable.

Duties:

Accounts Receivable:

Daily Processing of invoices, in accordance with agreed processes

Reconciling customer account with monitoring systems and updating monthly repeat invoices

Check recurring supplier invoice and re-invoice to client.

Close applicable tickets once client has been billed

Send monthly debtors’ statements

Follow up on outstanding accounts

Invoice queries to be dealt with in a timely manner

Ensuring payments are allocated as per remittance

Confirm the validity of the tax invoices/ credit notes, ensure that they have been duly approved

Create new clients on system in accordance with information received

Perform an age analysis on all accounts on a continual basis throughout the month in order to manage cash flow successfully

Accounts Payable

Reconcile supplier accounts and handed in on time

Confirm the validity of the tax invoices/ credit notes, ensure that they have been duly approved

Resolving outstanding claims/queries relating to suppliers

Summary of bills to be paid

Processing Payments to suppliers

Provide remittance advice for allocation and send to supplier

Check supplier pricing versus contract / agreements

Create new suppliers on the system in accordance with the information received

Perform an age analysis on all accounts on a continual basis to establish payments due and made timeously

Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts timeously and as per agreed processes

Ensure that allocations are done correctly to the GL account

Publish invoices and receipts from Receipt Bank (to Xero)

General Accounts:

Daily bank statement to be sent as per agreed processes

Check supplier (Uber, Vaioni, TfL etc) invoices with no PO’s

Director expense items in Xero & Receipt Bank

Credit checking new clients / suppliers through Experion

International calculation and ZAR Transfer

Complete month end Supplier accrual reconciliations and journals on time

Document control and management

Implement financial controls for creditors department as directed by company policy

Monitor financial control to ensure compliance

Track expenses and process expense reports

Additional:

Ad-hoc accountancy tasks

Administration (general administration, filing etc.).

Oversee and action everything required for Cape Town properties

Cape Town office purchases

Source and book accommodation

Source and purchase airline tickets

Education and Skills:

Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Finance / Accounting / Bookkeeping

Have sound organizational and accuracy skills.

Bookkeeping principles.

Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.

Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Attentive to detail and can handle pressure.

You must also be able to demonstrate you can work in an organised way, with good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

Highly professional

Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues

Valid driver’s license, own transport, and willingness to travel

Drive and enthusiasm

Excellent time keeping skills

Flexible team player with focus

A proactive approach to tasks and desire to learn new skills

Minimum Experience Required:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience on a similar role

Experience with Xero is an advantage
