IT Support Technician

Our client, a leading, innovative business that provides products, services, and solutions to the financial services and other select industries is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their team. You will be required to provide technical assistance to install, configure, operate, and repair software, systems and technological equipment.

Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Provide solutions to technical problems, either remotely or on premise.

Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify issues with software and operating systems.

Develop and implement technical procedures effective in quickly addressing customers’

problems to minimise downtime.

Carry out assessments to determine the need for changes in hardware, software, and operating systems configurations.

Operate and work with equipment such as smartboards, external storage devices, computer diagnostic tools, printers etc.

Perform scheduled maintenance on operating systems to ensure efficient operations, optimal performance, and minimum downtime.

Repair, replace or upgrade existing IT infrastructure such as desktops, laptops, and printers.

Train customers on the use of software and educate them on procedures for resolving or preventing the recurrence of a technical problem.

Monitor resource utilisation and systems and ensure no abuse is taking place.

Ensure data integrity by running checks and relevant scripts.

Prepare and present reports to update management on IT support operations.

against those goals, ensuring feedback is obtained, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly

Ensures that relevant information is passed on to clients and management who should be kept informed

Technical expertise.

Identifies what needs to be done and does it before being asked or before the situation

requires it

Minimum requirements:

2 years of experience in a similar role

A+ or equivalent

Experience troubleshooting systems

Experience in Windows-based operating system

Experience in Microsoft Office applications
