Our client in the Telecommunications sector requires an Infrastructure Hardware Support.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview:

Plan and maintain all Infrastructure and the Services supported by Infrastructure Services Department - Operations (Plan, Procure, Maintain, Optimise and Retire) throughout the lifecycle
To support the client infrastructure requirements, Infrastructure Services plan, design, implement and maintain the technical building blocks
Work with different IT teams across infrastructure, and other business divisions to deliver optimal support of all systems & solutions to the business.

Database and Applications Services (Production/Support environments in a HA & Site Resilient configuration) - IBM (AIX)
Enterprise Storage Controllers – HDS
V-Blocks MCi
Hyper Converged Platform
Virtualisation and Private Cloud
Supporting Shared Infrastructure and Production Shared Infrastructure – VMware
MZ Shared Infrastructure (Randburg, Newlands) – VMware
Regional Shared Infrastructure (Berea, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Midrand, Port Elisabeth, Polokwane) – VMware
Private Cloud for Supporting Environments – vCloud Director
Industry Standard Server Platforms (Windows, Redhat, ESX, Hyper-V, Citrix etc.)
VMware Physical Hosts and Microsoft Hyper-V Hosts
Microsoft Services (includes but not limited too Active Directory, Exchange, System Center, Lync)
Shared SQL Farms (2008 and 2014)
Traditional/Legacy Application Servers (Target for Consolidation and Virtualisation)
Industry Standard Server Storage Arrays – HP 3PAR, Dell V_MAX, HDS VSP, Huawei Oceanstor
Tapeless Backup - NetBackup Disk to Disk and Disk to IBM Library (Dark site)
Archiving
Storage Controllers – NetApp & Dell EMC Isilon
Applications – StorHouse
Implementation of ETL technologies
