POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
This organisation requires a handsâon Interim Head of Finance to take control of the finance function following an immediate departure. This shortâterm contract role is focused on stabilising operations, implementing structure and controls, and supporting upcoming audit and funding processes.

The role is initially fully remote, with the potential to transition into a hybrid setup in Sandton. You will work closely with the CFO in a cashâconstrained, highâpressure environment where immediate impact is essential. There is potential for the role to evolve into a permanent position, subject to business performance and liquidity.

If you excel in ambiguous environments and can deliver results with minimal onboarding, this role offers meaningful influence in a critical phase of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of the finance function and team
Stabilise dayâtoâday finance operations including cash flow and reconciliations
Identify gaps and implement robust financial processes and controls
Prepare the business for upcoming audits and funding initiatives
Maintain tight control over cash flow, liquidity, and forecasting
Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, cost optimisation, and decisionâmaking

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:

CA(SA) preferred
CIMA or equivalent qualification considered

Experience:

5 - 8 years’ experience in finance with leadership exposure
Proven experience in fastâpaced, highâgrowth or techâdriven environments
Strong background in stabilising underdeveloped finance functions
Experience supporting audits, funding processes, or investor reporting

Skills:

Handsâon, detailâoriented finance leadership
Strong problemâsolving and processâbuilding capability
Resilience in highâpressure environments
Excellent stakeholder communication
Commercially astute with strong operational judgement
