We are recruiting a Junior Principal Consultant - HR and Payroll to join our team in Irene, Centurion

Role Objective:

Liaise with the different Outsourced companies to ensure branch salaries are completed timeously and accurately and all statutory obligations in the different countries are complied with

Skills and Experience:

Essential Qualifications:

  • HR Degree / Payroll Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Management qualification (preferrable)
  • SQL / IT preferably University degree (advantageous)
  • Tax Qualification (preferrable)

Experience required:

  • Payroll experience (1-3 years)
  • Experience in the implementation of HR Payroll modules
  • Domain knowledge of HR and Payroll
  • Basic understanding functional and technical knowledge and expertise 
  • Domain and industry knowledge of the customer he / she is serving
  • Understanding of the functionality of our product and services / similar products
  • SQL skills (advantageous)
  • Documentation skills
Key Accountabilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Load new employees and update existing  employee information on Payroll accurately and timeously.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter all input documentation / data such as leave, overtime, check accuracy, assist and clarify queries and capture onto Payroll.
  • Maintain, monitor, and review information on the payroll system to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Investigate, report and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
  • Ensure all payroll terminations are captured timeously and the applicable payout is prepared for payment
  • Prepare Payroll Variance Report 
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations
  • Liaise with the different Outsourced companies to ensure branch salaries are completed timeously and accurately and all statutory obligations in the different countries are complied with
  • Process payroll input via batch transactions.
  • Assist Time and Attendance Clerk with the processing of monthly timesheets, verify accuracy and reconcile with leave records.
  • Assist with complaints and queries regarding payroll from employees and management.
  • Assist Payroll Manager in reviewing and checking new employee documentation.
  • Assist with ESS related queries from employees
  • Provide support to HR team/s required
  • Knowledge of tax legislation in African countries will be advantageous

Work environment:

  • Open Plan office. Hybrid work environment

Physical demands:

  • Normal physical demands can be expected of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting

Travel:

  • Must have a valid driverâ??s licence and own car
  • Travelling may be required.
