SUMMARY:
A leading organisation in the financial services sector is seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded qualified FASSA Actuary to join their dynamic team within the Life Insurance space.

POSITION INFO:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced actuarial professional with strong leadership capabilities and deep technical expertise to play a key role in driving actuarial excellence, business performance, and strategic decision-making.

Key Requirements:

Qualified FASSA Actuary (Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa) – essential
Minimum of 7 years’ actuarial experience within the Life Insurance industry
Proven leadership experience with at least 2 or more direct reports
Strong experience in life valuations, reserving, pricing, capital modelling, IFRS 17, and risk management
Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills
Ability to lead, mentor, and develop actuarial talent

Key Responsibilities:

Provide actuarial oversight across key life insurance functions
Lead and manage a team of actuarial professionals
Drive actuarial reporting, valuations, pricing, and strategic initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
Partner with senior leadership to support business growth and profitability
Contribute to business strategy through data-driven insights and actuarial expertise
