Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY:
A reputable company in the packaging manufacturing industry is looking to employ a Maintenance Manager.

The Candidate will be responsible to provide operational service to the plant. The role ensures effective and safe movement of men, product, and material in the plant. To oversee maintenance operations and ensuring that all the needed schedules are in place, equipment are functioning optimally. Manage and optimize the utilities operation to deliver superior service to the production depts. Implement the programs and systems to achieve and sustain high standards of plant & equipment capability, availability, and reliability.

POSITION INFO:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to world-class standards through detailed maintenance schedules, predictive maintenance techniques, effective root cause analysis and thorough lubrication schedules whilst ensuring safe operations as per the OHS Act.
• Ensure maximum efficiency of utility equipment (Air compressors, boilers, etc.)
• Ensure that the Loss Prevention Management system is correctly implemented within the engineering department driving the safety culture of the business.
• Identify the Capital Investment Projects required to deliver the Engineering Department Budget & Long- Term Plan.
• Managing a disciplined Engineering Department and enforcing discipline by following the company’s disciplinary policy and code of conduct.
• Legal compliance of pressure vessels, electrical installation, lifting equipment and rotating machinery (GMR 2.1)
• Set up a performance review system in keeping with the Group Performance Enhancement Policy
• Build, develop and maintain an effective team. Execute Engineering Standards and improve problem solving capabilities of internal teams.
• Apply maintenance methodologies aligned to lean principles to ensure continuous improvement of Engineering Reliability in line with the annual budget.
• Manage the Engineering & maintenance costs in line with the annual budget.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Electrical trade test and Government Certificate of Competency (Factories).
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical/electrical/instruments) with 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering within a manufacturing environment
• 1-2 years previous experience as Maintenance Manager appointed as a GMR2.1 in a FMCG environment (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Microsoft
