Maintenance Manager (Foreman/Supervisor)

SUMMARY:
A leading manufacturing organisation in Durban is seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving plant reliability, minimising downtime, improving maintenance systems, and ensuring legal compliance across all engineering operations.

This role is ideally suited to a qualified Electrical Engineer who is either a GCC candidate currently progressing toward certification or already holds a GCC Factories qualification.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements BSc \/ BEng in Electrical Engineering GCC Factories completed, or currently a GCC candidate Proven maintenance management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong knowledge of electrical systems, plant equipment, and maintenance best practices Experience leading technical teams and contractors Strong understanding of OHSA, statutory compliance, and engineering standards Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the maintenance department, including electrical and mechanical teams Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies Ensure maximum plant uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency Manage maintenance budgets, spares, and contractor performance Oversee plant shutdowns, breakdown response, and continuous improvement projects Ensure compliance with GCC, safety legislation, and engineering standards Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Mentor and develop engineering and maintenance personnel Collaborate with production to improve asset performance and reduce downtime Ideal Candidate Profile Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage teams effectively Hands-on approach to solving plant and equipment issues Commercially aware with strong cost control capability Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Driven to improve systems, processes, and engineering performance What's on Offer Opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing group Strategic leadership role with growth potential Competitive salary and benefits package Exposure to a dynamic, high-volume production environment
