Maintenance Supervisor (Injection Moulding)

SUMMARY:
A Durban-based injection moulding plant is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance execution and drive equipment reliability across a high-volume production environment.
You will oversee breakdown response, planned maintenance, and contractor activity while ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

POSITION INFO:
What you bring (Essential) Trade Test: Millwright or Electrician N4 Electrical \/ Electro-Mechanical qualification (minimum) Proven experience in injection moulding manufacturing environments Strong hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and VSDs Minimum 5 years post-trade maintenance experience At least 3 years' supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing environment Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems Experience working in high-volume production environments Strong MS Excel and reporting ability Exposure to CMMS systems (SAP or similar) advantageous FMCG, packaging, or plastics manufacturing experience Strong breakdown leadership experience in fast-paced environments Proven ability to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and downtime reduction Hands-on \"lead from the front\" supervisory style What you will be doing Leading daily maintenance activities in a production environment Responding to breakdowns and restoring equipment to production quickly Driving planned maintenance execution and adherence to schedules Improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime Supervising maintenance staff and contractors on site Supporting injection moulding machine performance and uptime Ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures Working closely with production teams to minimise disruptions Fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Supporting spare parts control and maintenance planning activities Interpreting technical drawings and assisting with equipment troubleshooting Driving continuous improvement initiatives (RCA, Kaizen, downtime reduction) You will stand out if you have Strong contractor management experience Exposure to reliability or continuous improvement initiatives 📩 How to apply: Follow the link to our job seekers' page - Click Apply to submit your CV.
