Role Overview
A well-established manufacturing operation in the FMCG sector is seeking a Maintenance Manager or Technician or Foreman  to take full responsibility for plant reliability, equipment readiness, and maintenance strategy execution. This role is ideally suited to an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering graduate (BTech or BEng) with 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience gained within a high-speed production environment such as packaging, food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing. You must be in the process to write your GCC Factories or have your GCC Factories.
The successful candidate will lead a team of foremen and artisans, ensuring optimal uptime of both electrical and mechanical assets, while also driving CAPEX projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency
• Supervise and coordinate a team of foremen, technicians, and artisans
• Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment readiness, minimising downtime and production interruptions
• Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance systems
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Manage and execute CAPEX projects, including installation, commissioning, and optimisation of new equipment
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maintenance standards, and audit requirements
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve plant performance and reliability
• Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and KPI tracking

• BTech or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (non-negotiable)
• South African candidates will be given preference
• Candidates who have a GCC Factories or who are in the process to write their GCC will be given preference
• 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging preferred)
• Proven experience managing electrical and mechanical foremen and maintenance teams
• Strong exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems in a production environment
• Demonstrated experience in CAPEX project execution and equipment installation
• Solid understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
• Experience working with automated production lines and high-speed equipment
