POSITION INFO:
A well-established platinum mining operation based in a remote area of Limpopo is seeking a Management Accountant to support the finance function with a strong focus on costing, budgeting, and operational reporting.
This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working close to operations and partnering with site leadership to ensure accurate cost control, performance reporting, and financial discipline. The position offers exposure to real-time mining operations and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage operational costing reports, including variance analysis and cost allocations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes for mining operations.
• Monitor and analyse production costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with month-end reporting, management packs, and performance analysis.
• Work closely with site management to support financial decision-making and cost control initiatives.
• Ensure accurate cost capture across departments and maintain strong financial controls.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

• BCom Accounting / Finance (Essential)
• CIMA / studying towards CIMA (Advantageous)

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in management accounting / costing
• Experience within mining, manufacturing, heavy industry, or production environments (Highly advantageous)
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in an operational setting

Skills:

• Strong costing and operational reporting experience (Non-negotiable)
• Advanced Excel skills (Non-negotiable)
• ERP system exposure (SAP / Syspro / Sage / Oracle advantageous)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote site environment

Other Non-Negotiables:

• Must be willing to work on-site in a remote area of Limpopo
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
