Job Profile Summary

The (FP&A) accountant operates at a national level, dealing with more complex environments.
Their primary objective is to analyse financial data and facilitate decision making. This includes but is not limited to financial decision making, budget creation and forecasting. This includes analysis of past company performance against set metrics. They also ensure that all accounting related tasks are professionally executed according to company and legal requirements.

Job Description

Produce reports

TheFP&Aaccountant ensures that the required reports are produced, analysed and used at an operational level. They leverage the consolidation and reporting team to consolidate at a GTM level.

Generate forecast and budget

The FP&A accountant is responsible for  the compilation of the the detailed forecast for the Hybrid Networks business unit or the other business units in the Intelligent Afrastructure Go To Market ( GTM) business of Dimension Data. To compile the forecast, the accountant need to interrogate and analyze various sources of information and interact with sales people, sales mangers, commercial accountants and technical and solutions staff in Dimension Data.

The FP&A accountant is responsible for the with the compilation of the the detailed budget for the Hybrid Networks business unit or the other business Units in the Intelligent Afrastructure Go To Market ( GTM) business of Dimension Data. To compile the budget, the accountant need understand the strategic plan of the business unit, the financial history and the variables effecting the Internet and Networks and the IT Security and IT Datacentres industry.  As a result the FP&A accountant have to interact with the senior management and technical teams in the business.

The other business units includes IT Security, Datacentres, and Communications

Revenue assurance

Because the theFP&A accountant is responsible for the compiliation of the forecast, with specific focus on the revenue component of the forecast, the accountant also need to analyse the revenue realized and understand variations to the forecast. In this capacity the accountant need to oversee the revenue assurance if the business unit and as a result interact with the biulling department.

Financial analysis and reporting

The accountant contributes to the analysis and preparation of several financial reports and ensures the distribution and presentation of this information at the relevant forums.

The accountant is responsible to analyse the financial results against the forecast, with specific reference to revenue.

The accountant is also required to evaluate and report on the profitability of major contracts and the Hybrid Networks business unit or the other business units in the II GTM.

Behavioural skills

The Senior Management Accountant displays good planning and organising ability and demonstrates excellent attention to detail. They are highly analytical individuals who are able to work effectively under pressure. They have the ability to self-manage and are deadline driven individuals who display high levels of integrity.

Academic Auqlifications

B Com Degree or similar with Accounting as major subject. Articles with audit / accounting firm or similar experience.

Newly qualified CA would be ideal.

Reporting Responsibilities

Reports to the FP&A Senior Management accountant in the II GTM.
