What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of external communication initiatives that promote and protect The Employer’s corporate reputation and its portfolio of brands. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing corporate communications and media relations strategies.

• Managing reputational risks and leading crisis communication initiatives.

• Creating powerful, executive-level content and thought leadership.

• Overseeing media strategy and public relations across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

• Building partnerships with media, influencers, and key stakeholders.

• Driving The Employer’s corporate social media strategy and leveraging social insights.

• Providing strategic media training and supporting internal leadership teams.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.

• 8–10 years’ experience in communications with a strong corporate focus.

• Proven track record in leading strategic communications and media relations.

• Experience working with executives, the media, and both government and private sector stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage crises, budgets, and large-scale communication campaigns.
