Manager: Market Development and Communication

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and coordinating market development projects
• Marketing and trade initiatives (coordinating and liaising with a broad range of initiatives, including trade shows/fares, congresses and exhibitions)
• International generic market development for SATI members
• Planning, coordinating and hosting events, functions and public relations initiatives
• Managing all stakeholder engagements (including relevant government departments, SATI entities and affiliates, media, markets, etc.)
• Developing, implementing and maintaining the communication strategy for the table grape industry
• Managing the overall communication function including newsletters, digital marketing and social media, pamphlets, annual reports, promotion & marketing material, etc.
• Brand management and visibility
• Budget management and reporting

Requirements:

• Candidates from designated groups as stipulated in the Employment Equity Act will receive preference
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• More than 5 years’ experience in market development, strategic branding and media communications
• Previous experience in providing direction to CEO / Senior Management on media issues, reputation management, social responsibility and sustainability compliance
• Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally on a regular basis
• Proven project management experience
• Bilingual with professional command of both English & Afrikaans
• Knowledge of the table grape industry will be considered advantageous
