Manager: Spares Sales & Commercial Operations Location: Gauteng Industry: Mining \/ Engineering Department: Spares & Services Reporting to: Managing Director Job Purpose An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Manager: Spares Sales & Commercial Operations to lead the commercial performance of a Spares and Services Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing customer relationships, improving profitability and overseeing the efficient execution of commercial activities relating to spare parts, refurbishments, repairs and field services. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to grow spare parts, refurbishment, repair and field service revenue. Drive departmental sales, profitability and margin targets. Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective customer accounts. Develop aftermarket sales strategies to increase customer retention and recurring revenue. Build and maintain strong relationships with key mining and industrial customers. Negotiate and manage Customer Supply Agreements. Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities. Resolve customer complaints, commercial disputes and service-related issues. Lead, manage, coach and develop the Spares and Services team. Establish and monitor departmental KPIs and performance metrics. Manage departmental budgets and expenditure. Oversee quotations, costing submissions, order processing, expediting, collections and deliveries. Ensure effective inventory management and accurate customer and part master data. Develop and maintain departmental procedures and workflows. Support Sales Engineers with lifecycle costing, maintenance budget projections and aftermarket solutions. Develop annual business plans and commercial growth strategies. Monitor departmental profitability, margins and operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement and enhance customer service levels. Minimum Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Sales, Commerce, Engineering or a related field . Minimum 5–8 years' relevant experience in sales, commercial operations, aftermarket sales or a related environment. Proven management and leadership experience. Experience within the mining, engineering, industrial equipment or related sector . Strong understanding of spare parts, aftermarket sales, repairs, refurbishments and\/or field services. Proven track record of business development and achieving sales targets. Experience managing key customer relationships and commercial agreements. Strong financial and commercial acumen. Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
