Workwear MD – East Rand
Salary: Market Related

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Managing Director is expected to provide inspiration, motivation, and guidance to Leaders and Manager in a Factory
The successful candidate must have a proven track record with medium to large textile / apparel factories
Minimum 10 Years Senior Management experience
Prepare and implement comprehensive plans to facilitate achievement by Planning Co-effective Operations and Market Development activities
Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets
Taking remedial action where necessary
Market knowledge – background into garment manufacturing
Knowledge of manufacture of uniform around the world, trade agreements
Product knowledge in understanding the world of uniform and the purpose of these uniforms in the respective markets and industries
Raw material knowledge in fabric and trims
Supply chain knowledge in sourcing of raw materials, shipping routes including transhipments, shipping timelines, cost of shipping, MOQ’s, FCL quantities on different fabric qualities / weights
Product Costing – Pre-Costing – the ability to dissect and cost a product pre-production – Post-Costing – Product Mix – being able to relate the post-costing and pre-costing to either understand changes required in the production process or price amendments – Product Mix – understanding most suitable product for factory – Machinery – enough knowledge about machinery to relate to expected sewing and cutting efficiency
Product Planning
Human Resources
Accounting – emphasis on working capital requirements, net margins, ROFE, exchange rate fluctuations and cash flows – retaining constant awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent problems or losses
