SUMMARY:
Microsoft Exchange Administrator

POSITION INFO:

Provide support, maintenance and administration of email based on the Microsoft Exchange Server;

Migration of email platform to Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and or the latest licensed version; 

Server hardware and software support;

Provide support to provincial and municipal offices;

Manages and monitors anti-virus products across organisation;

Manages and monitors patch management across organisation;

Resolves third level support problems;

Server maintenance and monitoring including knowledge of SCOM;

Monitors and maintains the load balanced internet information servers (IIS);

Knowledge of security Firewalls;

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server);

Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies, with special focus on VMware;

Works with a team of systems administrators;

Reviews change requests for completeness and analyses, prioritises, categorises, approves, and schedules change requests;

Monitors the successful completion of all change requests, including change planning, building, testing, and implementation to ensure that these processes follow the change schedule;

Reviews and evaluates the change process;

Manages and monitors data storage using storage area network (SAN) technologies;

Knowledge of Microsoft Clustering services

Schedule and perform maintenance of systems;

Evaluates new technologies and prepares documentation.

Skills 

Deep skills and experience in Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange Server and Applications with the following certifications:

MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, etc.

MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server;

VMWare Certified Professional 6 or – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) d) MCDBA will be an advantage

It is further recommended that the candidate should have experience in Troubleshooting and problem solving technical issues Deep skills and experience in designing and implementing IT solutions

Software Patch management, uptime monitoring and top tier support.

Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server technologies and IIS;

Microsoft SQL server technologies;

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory on Server technologies;

Microsoft Windows Server technologies

Extensive knowledge and experience on virtualization technologies (VMWare and HypeV) > 6 Years

Networking skills, configuration of switches, IP ranges and VLANS (VPN, Cisco routers, Satellite networks, Switches, VLANs, VOIP etc.) >6 Years

Design IT infrastructure; >6 Years

Skills and experience in data-center hardware and software support and installation; >6 Years

Network security skills and experience (Symantec antivirus End Point Protection edition); >6 Years

Good communication and interpersonal skills; Advantage Good Microsoft networking and Operating System skills. >6 Years

Configuring and managing firewalls (Checkpoint NGX or SBA) >2 Years

Good report writing Advantage Good enterprise security knowledge Advantage Good working knowledge of SCOM (Microsoft System Center Operations Management) >2 Years

Good knowledge of backup solutions (e.g. Veritas Nedbackup, Enterprise Vault, etc.) >5 Years

Working knowledge of ISA (Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server) >3 Years
