JOB SUMMARY:
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIST -LONG-LIFE FOOD (EE) - BOLAND AREA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the developmental processes of a product from market research until launch. This includes researching new opportunities, developing products, sourcing new materials, analysing shelf life of product, drawing up packaging brief for product, liaising with suppliers and organising product launch. Is also involved with quality assurance and upgrading of existing products

Job Responsibilities

Developing of new products for existing and new ranges for the Long-Life division
Upgrading of existing products
Conducting factory trials
Identifying appropriate raw materials and suppliers
Liaising effectively with our customers and suppliers
Communicating effectively with the Technical and Production Departments
A preparedness to work extended hours and traveling when necessary will be essential
Implement corrective actions identified within specified time

Key requirements:

A tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science or related discipline
Ideally 3-5 years of experience in product development of food
Experience in canning will be an advantage
Knowledge of competitive marketplace information and trends in the food industry
Understanding of ISO and HACCP principles
An assertive, team spirited, proactive and hands-on approach
Very good communication skills
Excellent planning and organizing skills
A passion for food
A good track record in the industry
