Minimum Requirements: Minimum 5 years' proven business development \/ new business sales experience . Essential: Proven experience in last-mile distribution. Essential: Logistics, courier, distribution or related industry experience. Demonstrated track record of successfully acquiring and developing new business. Experience selling solutions\/services to businesses rather than purely transactional sales. Strong understanding of the logistics and distribution environment. Experience dealing with decision-makers and building long-term commercial relationships. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics or a related field would be advantageous. Competent in Microsoft Office. Must be based in or able to work from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). Key Responsibilities: lastIdentify and develop new business opportunities within the logistics, courier and distribution market. Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, field activity and industry research. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients. Develop business within last-mile distribution networks and understand the operational and commercial requirements of reaching the end customer. Identify opportunities across retailers, distributors, FMCG businesses, e-commerce and other organisations requiring last-mile delivery solutions. Conduct market research and analyse industry trends, competitors and emerging opportunities. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals and solutions tailored to client requirements. Negotiate commercial terms and successfully close new business. Obtain relevant client information and completed credit applications. Follow up on leads and referrals generated through business development activities. Work closely with operations, customer service and internal teams to ensure client requirements are successfully implemented. Manage client queries and ensure a high level of customer service. Maintain accurate sales pipelines, client databases and activity reports. Achieve agreed sales targets, KPIs and revenue objectives .
