Non-Life Actuarial Analyst

An excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Actuary looking to build deep, realâtime experience within ShortâTerm (NonâLife) Insurance, while steadily progressing toward FASSA qualification in a supportive and technically strong environment.

This role is with a wellâestablished ShortâTerm Insurance business offering strong actuarial exposure across core nonâlife functions. The organisation is known for developing actuarial talent through meaningful work, strong mentorship and ongoing exam support.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform actuarial analysis across pricing, reserving and capital for shortâterm insurance products
Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
Support ongoing model development, validation and enhancements
Collaborate with underwriting, finance and risk teams on business decisions

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

BSc in Actuarial Science or related qualification
Registered with the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA)

Experience:

2–5 years’ actuarial experience within ShortâTerm (NonâLife) Insurance
Demonstrated progress with actuarial exams and clear intent to qualify as FASSA

Skills:

Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in Excel; exposure to R / Python / VBA advantageous
Ability to communicate actuarial insights clearly to nonâactuarial stakeholders

Nonânegotiables:

Shortâterm (nonâlife) insurance exposure
Commitment to ongoing exam progression
