Plant Project Engineer (FMCG)

POSITION INFO:

PLANT PROJECT ENGINEER

A position has arisen in our packaging manufacturing company based in Johannesburg for a young and dynamic Plant Project Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following: (amongst other duties)

Drive time studies and accurate data collection
Drive optimisation of planned changes (Mould changes/colour changes/Weight changes) through accurate data collection and implementation of improvement actions
Identify and recommend improvement areas to improve productivity (Improve machine efficiencies/ Improve cycle times / Reduce cost)
Champion energy efficiency for the division - reduction of electricity usage by daily tracking and recommendation of improvement areas
Champion all trial run requests in the division and reporting
Drive data-based decision making and recommendations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

BEng or BTech Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering degree
0 - 2 Years engineering experience is required in a food manufacturing environment
An ability to communicate at all levels
Be familiar with food safety standards
An ability to negotiate effectively
A strong ability to think logically and rationally
Assertive and forthright
A strong financial and commercial aptitude
