Portfolio Manager (Commercial Underwriting) | Pretoria East

POSITION INFO:
A well-established underwriting managers’ company is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager (Commercial Underwriting) to join their Pretoria-based team.

The successful candidate will actively manage a portfolio of commercial clients, combining strong underwriting expertise with client relationship management, policy administration, and service delivery to ensure high standards and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and underwrite commercial insurance risks, ensuring compliance with company guidelines
Manage a portfolio of existing clients, handling renewals, amendments, and rebroking
Liaise with brokers and clients to gather information and provide underwriting support
Monitor policies for compliance and accuracy
Support business development initiatives where required

Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in commercial underwriting
Matric (Grade 12) and full FAIS compliance
Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and policy wordings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Well-organised, accurate, and able to meet deadlines
Competent in MS Office and insurer administration systems
Client-focused with strong negotiation and relationship management skills

Salary & Benefits:

R20,000-R30,000 CTC per month, depending on experience
