JOB SUMMARY:
Our well-established manufacturing client is currently seeking a well experienced Procurement Leader to join their team and manage the procurement of all raw materials, packaging and consumables for SA and Africa.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Development, management and communication of robust procurement and purchasing strategies
Develop, maintain and execute a continuous improvement plan for purchasing which minimises stock holding, redundancy, wastage, costs and out of stocks
Work with the Sales, Operations and Technical teams to deliver industry leading innovation development, securing sustainable and competitive supply of raw materials
Develop, implement and manage strategic tender processes
Ensure material stocks are proactively managed within targeted working capital levels, reducing waste and write offs
Develop and manage supplier audit strategy. Proactive supplier management ensuring supplier’s performance and contractor assurance KPI’s are met
Ensure all materials purchased meet the business specifications and compliance needs
Manage and develop logistical provision and 3rd party storage for optimum performance/ cost
Management of direct reports
Improve performance results of the department and the development of the team through employee life cycle
Ensure the Procurement team engages and communicates productively with all business functions and/or sites
Coach purchasing team (negotiations of purchasing contracts and once off purchases) and the procurement team (effective stock management
Operate effectively within agreed budget constraints and formal Limits of Authority

Requirements:

Supply Chain/ Procurement Management Degree or Commercial Degree
Registration or accreditation with a professional procurement management body an advantage
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Procurement
Must have demonstrated experience in managing teams
Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement processes
Commodity procurement will be advantageous
Good interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and reporting
Strong team work ethic
Operate effectively under pressure, able to manage multiple and changing priorities.
