Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
Company based in Pretoria is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer (Legal Secretary & Administrative) to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities Material Procurement: Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials including various grades of sheet metal (steel, aluminum, copper). Component Sourcing: Order specialized manufacturing hardware, fasteners, rivets, tooling components, and factory consumables. Office & Operations Supply: Manage and replenish inventory for office stationery, printing supplies, and administrative equipment. Contract Administration: Draft, format, and proofread vendor supply agreements, purchase contracts, and distributor templates. Procurement Operations: Process purchase orders, evaluate vendor quotes, and maintain the approved supplier database. Compliance Tracking: Maintain documentation for factory permits, environmental safety regulations, and equipment inspections. Logistics & Dispute Support: Coordinate with logistics teams to log and resolve legal disputes regarding defective metal supplies or delayed shipments. File & Schedule Management: Organize digital and physical case files, track contract renewal deadlines, and schedule vendor review meetings. Required Skills and Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years as a legal secretary, procurement clerk, or an administrative role. Education: Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration, Legal Secretarial Studies, Supply Chain, or a related field. Industrial Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing terminology, metal grading, commercial contracts, and supply chain logistics. Software Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and procurement or ERP software (like SAP or Syspro). Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and absolute discretion with confidential corporate data.
