Reporting Accountant

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be mentored into a Financial Manager role over time, making this the ideal opportunity for someone with strong technical reporting skills and leadership aspirations. Minimum Requirements: BCom Accounting or CA(SA) qualification. Minimum 3-5 years' relevant financial reporting experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience within the manufacturing, mining or heavy industrial sector will be highly advantageous. A stable employment history with the desire to establish a long-term career. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS. Compile and review monthly management accounts and reporting packs. Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger. Support the month-end and year-end close process. Analyze financial results and provide meaningful commentary on variances. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Liaise with internal and external auditors during audit engagements. Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and financial reporting requirements. Drive continuous improvements in reporting processes and financial controls. Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
