Risk & Compliance Specialist (Health and Safety)

SUMMARY:
A leading national automotive manufacturing company is seeking a SHE Risk & Compliance Specialist to join its team. Reporting to the Divisional SHE Manager, the successful candidate will lead and manage the Group's SHE Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, legal and regulatory requirements, and risk management standards across multiple manufacturing and operational facilities nationwide.

POSITION INFO:
The Person: Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and\/or Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance (NQF Level 7 minimum). Environmental Health and Safety qualification. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Certification. SAMTRAC or equivalent Safety Certification. NEBOSH qualification advantageous. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a risk, compliance or SHE-related role. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the Manufacturing and\/or Automotive sector. The Job: Develop and implement Group SHE and compliance strategies aligned to business objectives. Ensure compliance with OHS Act, NEMA, ISO standards and all applicable SHE legislation. Maintain and improve the Group SHE Management System (SHEQ-X). Lead and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 multi-site certification programmes. Manage legal registers, compliance monitoring and legislative updates. Conduct internal audits, legal compliance audits and management reviews. Drive risk management programmes, hazard identification and corrective action initiatives. Lead plant risk, environmental impact and aspect assessments. Develop, review and maintain SHE policies, procedures and work instructions. Verify and validate the closure of audit findings and corrective actions across all sites. Facilitate SHE training programmes, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, HIRA and legal compliance. Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence. The Ideal Candidate: You are a proactive compliance and risk professional with strong knowledge of SHE legislation, ISO management systems and manufacturing operations. You possess excellent analytical, auditing, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive compliance and risk management initiatives across a national footprint.
