Are you a sales leader who drives the business — not just the sales report?

We are looking for a commercially sharp, highly driven Senior Sales Manager who can lead from the front, bring a team together and take ownership of sales performance across South Africa, Africa and international markets.
This is not a desk-bound, administrative sales management position.
You will operate in a demanding industrial environment where customers expect answers, problems need solutions and targets need to be chased.
You must be equally comfortable leading a sales team, engaging a difficult customer, analysing a sales pipeline, navigating an ERP/CRM system, discussing a commercial contract and getting on a plane to meet a customer internationally.
We want a business-minded sales leader with energy, presence and a proven track record of results.

POSITION INFO:
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO: Relevant Tertiary education. P roven Sales management track record , ideally within mining, industrial, engineering, manufacturing or a related technical environment. Understands the mining industry and the way mining customers operate and make decisions . Can demonstrate genuine sales growth, target achievement and customer success stories . Commercially astute and understands margins, budgets, forecasting and profitability. Highly customer focused and able to manage relationships during both good and challenging situations. Strong communicator and natural relationship builder. Tech-savvy and systems-driven, not reliant on manual processes and spreadsheets alone. Has solid experience working with CRM and\/or ERP systems . Solution-driven and prepared to take ownership until a matter is resolved. Willing and able to travel extensively internationally. Previous exposure to African and international markets\/exports . Strong commercial contract experience. YOU WILL TAKE OWNERSHIP OF: Lead a team of 30-plus people, motivate and drive the external and internal sales functions across departments. Take accountability for sales revenue, margins, growth and performance against budget. Drive the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets. Manage and grow existing key customer relationships. Identify opportunities for new business and increased market penetration. Oversee customer communication, quotations, orders and service delivery. Work closely with the exports function servicing African and international markets. Manage sales forecasting, pipelines, budgets and performance reporting. Analyse sales trends and turn information into commercially sound actions. Drive customer retention and resolve difficult or escalated customer matters. Ensure strong communication between Sales, Finance, Logistics, Production and Technical teams. Improve systems, processes and customer engagement where shortcomings are identified. Work confidently with CRM and ERP systems and use technology to drive efficiencies. Manage commercial documentation and contribute to contractual discussions. Travel extensively throughout South Africa, Africa and internationally as required.
