Sales & Marketing Manager - Africa

Build Africa. Own the market. Lead the sales function for a global industrial motors & power transmission player.

POSITION INFO:
A global manufacturer of industrial electric motors and power transmission solutions is establishing and scaling its African footprint.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a senior Sales & Marketing Manager to spearhead business development across South Africa and the broader African continent, with a clear path to building and leading the regional sales team.

This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role suited to someone who thrives in market development, technical solution sales, and strategic growth.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• 5–10+ years’ experience in industrial / technical B2B sales
• Proven success in market or territory development
• Strong exposure to Africa-focused sales (local and cross-border)
• Ability to operate independently and build structure from the ground up
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across Africa

Job Experience & Skills Required

• Sales leadership experience within industrial equipment, electric motors, gearboxes, drives, or power transmission
• Strong solution-based selling capability into industrial, mining, manufacturing, FMCG, OEM, or EPC environments
• Experience establishing and managing distributors, agents, OEMs, and EPC relationships
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation, closing, and brand-building skills
• Ability to engage confidently with engineers, plant managers, and maintenance teams
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), Business, or Sales & Marketing (technical qualification highly advantageous)
