Sales Team Leader

POSITION INFO:
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the debt review and financial services sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Team Leader to join their growing team based across Johannesburg East and Pretoria East.

This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a target-driven sales environment, understands the debt collections or debt review space, and is passionate about coaching teams to achieve performance excellence while maintaining compliance within a regulated financial services environment.

The successful candidate will be required to travel between both branches (Johannesburg East and Pretoria East) as part of their operational responsibilities.

This is a key leadership role within a high-performance environment where motivation, structure, and consistent coaching directly influence business success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of sales consultants within a debt review environment
• Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets in line with business objectives
• Monitor team performance and implement coaching strategies to improve conversion rates
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Assist in onboarding and training new sales team members
• Ensure adherence to industry compliance standards, including relevant financial services regulations (e.g., NCA principles)
• Manage pipeline activity, call quality, and customer engagement standards
• Support the team with objection handling, escalations, and complex client queries
• Analyse sales reports and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement
• Maintain a high-performance, disciplined, and customer-centric team culture
• Collaborate with management to implement sales strategies and process improvements
• Travel between Johannesburg East and Pretoria East branches as operationally required

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum Matric (Grade 12) is required
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in debt collections, debt review, or financial services sales
• Proven experience in a leadership, team leader, or supervisory role within a sales environment
• Strong understanding of debt review processes, credit solutions, or collections frameworks
• Ability to motivate, coach, and manage performance in a target-driven environment
• Strong multitasking and organisational skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
• Comfortable working in a high-pressure, KPI-driven environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proficient in basic reporting, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools
• Willingness and ability to travel between Johannesburg East and Pretoria East branches
