Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering design and project management organisation specialising in innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for mining and industrial projects, from concept stage through to commissioning and handover.
The organisation is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Bulk Material Handling (BMH) Site Supervisor to join a major mining infrastructure project. This position will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities associated with bulk material handling systems and ensuring safe, compliant, and successful project execution.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Provide active support to site Health, Safety and Environmental requirements while ensuring compliance with project safety standards and permit-to-work systems. Supervise and coordinate Bulk Material Handling and Mechanical contractors to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality requirements. Monitor and supervise the installation of conveyors, transfer towers, transfer chutes, bins, hoppers, steel structures, platework, and associated mechanical equipment. Oversee equipment installation and alignment including conveyors, pulleys, idlers, drives, take-up units, gearboxes, motors, and ancillary equipment. Ensure bulk materials handling systems are installed in accordance with approved designs and OEM requirements. Coordinate interfaces between Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control & Instrumentation disciplines. Support project quality management through inspections, quality control processes, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Monitor contractor productivity and support project planning and progress tracking activities. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project stakeholders. Assist with quantity verification, contractor progress measurements, and payment assessments. Support document control processes including quality records, inspection reports, redline mark-ups, and handover documentation. Engage proactively with client representatives, contractors, OEMs, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Identify and communicate construction risks, safety concerns, quality issues, and schedule impacts. Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and project handover activities. Job Requirements Qualifications National Diploma, BTech, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Trade qualification as a Fitter, Millwright, or Mechanical Artisan will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical or bulk material handling construction supervision. Minimum 5 years' experience on mining, bulk material handling, conveyor systems, mineral processing plants, or heavy industrial projects. Proven experience supervising conveyor installations and associated bulk materials handling infrastructure. Experience working within operational mining or industrial facilities will be advantageous. Experience working within EPCM project execution environments will be advantageous. Role Requirements The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and supervision of mechanical and bulk material handling construction activities associated with a major mining infrastructure project. The role forms part of the site construction management team and requires oversight of contractor performance, compliance with engineering specifications, project quality requirements, and site safety standards. Experience on conveyor systems, transfer chutes, stackers, reclaimers, sampling plants, and bulk material handling facilities will be highly advantageous. Exposure to multiple project execution methodologies will be beneficial.
