Senior Business Development – Automotive logistics

SUMMARY:
This position is solution sales focused. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling the current and future developed technology and service offerings. Also promoting the company’s returnable packaging were possible into the Automotive, Manufacturing and Industrial sectors. You will join an efficient and collaborative team and make a real contribution to a smarter, more sustainable future in this sector through business innovation.
You will report to the Executive - Client Experience, as part of his team. The successful applicant will be responsible for securing new clients nationally and be based in Centurion.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• To provide an exceptional level of service to current and prospective customers.
• Assist customers in understanding the company’s products and identify solutions to fit their needs, generating sales whilst continuing to achieve customer satisfaction levels
• Generate sales opportunities and implement sales strategies for TEAM Automotive technology solutions.
• Engage in consultative selling and have a business solutions approach.
• Prospect and secure potential customers to achieve annual new business sales targets.
• Identify and close returnable packaging supply opportunities.
• Open new opportunities with Automotive OEM’s and their supplier base currently doing or not doing business with the company
• Build a comprehensive understanding of Customer needs and requirements and communicate these accurately to the relevant HOD to assist with the value proposition, and solution adoption, change or development.
• Meet targets as per the annual sales budget.
• To research and gather appropriate information on target markets (Automotive) to qualified leads, plans and execute an effective sales approach.
• Able to cultivate strong multi-player relationships
• Prepare customized bid proposals and conduct bid presentations
• Contribute to and author marketing materials, customer RFI responses, proposals and quotes.
• Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential leads, creating a robust pipeline of opportunities through networking, conferences, and industry events.
• Product Development Collaboration: Work with the product development team to relay market feedback and ensure our digital ecosystem continues to meet and exceed market expectations.
• Keep informed of the Company’s product/service offerings and industry conditions to enhance successful customer outcomes.
• Partner with the Key account management team and inter-company partners to implement best practices for implementing solutions and problem-solving.
• Interface and liaise with large key customers regularly.
• Prepare and report on the Company’s monthly sales figures with full variance analysis.
• Responsible for timely follow up and on-going sales relationship with qualified clients in the automotive industry.
• Supervise and control resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements.
• Provide product expertise within the team and respond to queries.
• Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the business.
• Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effectiveness in resolving customer complaints.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate sales, goals and develop long term partnerships with customers.
• Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, exhibitions, and trade shows, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional workshops.

• A tertiary qualification to support the requirements of the job and related.
• At least five (5) years of industry sales experience, of which 3 years Automotive supply chain experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in business development, product management, strategic development or developing key accounts in a technology-based business within the automotive industry.
• Practical experience of value selling.
• Sound understanding of technologies that include Web applications, mobile applications, hand-held scanners with RFID/barcode readers, BTLE devices, fixed RFID readers/antennas, IOT instruments, GPS tracking devices, and custom machine / factory systems / WMS data interfaces.

• Must be able and willing to pursue new business opportunities
• Willing to travel (Nationally if needed)
• Proven record of successful deals closed and meeting / exceeding sales targets.
