? Gauteng | 16-Month Fixed-Term Contract

A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to oversee the on-site delivery of a major water and sanitation infrastructure project in Gauteng. This 16-month contract role offers the opportunity to lead a site-based team and ensure the successful implementation of civil works valued over R7.5 million per project.

? Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day site construction monitoring and manage site personnel.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, health & safety, and environmental requirements.

• Oversee contract administration, including issuing site instructions, variation orders, and payment certificates.

• Monitor training, empowerment, and community engagement aspects.

• Track progress, maintain records, and compile completion reports and certificates.

• Maintain the project’s Quality Management System and ensure adherence to specifications and contract conditions (GCC 2015/FIDIC).

? Minimum Requirements:

• BSc/BEng/BTech/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering.

• Registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.

• At least 10 years’ post-qualification experience, including five large-scale water/sewer pipeline projects (R7.5M+).

• Proven experience in reinforced concrete water/wastewater retaining structures.

• Familiar with construction materials, methods, and supervision protocols for bulk pipelines, reservoirs, and treatment infrastructure.

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.

• Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
