POSITION INFO:
Our client in the mining sector is currently seeking a Senior Technical Tender Specialist with extensive experience in preparing complex mining tenders for a short-term contact to support the preparation of a complex multi-site mining services tender. The successful consultant will work directly will take responsibility for interpreting the technical scope, identifying commercial and operational risks, coordinating tender inputs and developing a comprehensive, commercially sound tender submission. Key Responsibilities Conduct a detailed review of the client''s RFQ, scope of work, pricing schedules and contractual requirements. Develop a comprehensive tender compliance and submission matrix. Identify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions and commercial risks. Prepare clarification questions for submission to the client. Develop the tender response structure and coordinate all required inputs. Assist with labour costing models, including salaries, statutory employment costs, overtime, leave provisions and mobilisation costs. Review and cost equipment, vehicles, PPE, consumables, medicals, training and site compliance requirements. Develop commercial assumptions and pricing methodologies. Assist in determining appropriate management fees, contingencies and risk provisions. Develop mobilisation and implementation methodology. Prepare resource plans, organograms and project governance structures. Coordinate technical information received from recruiters, equipment suppliers and other stakeholders. Review the final tender for commercial accuracy, compliance and completeness prior to submission. Support the Managing Director during client clarification and commercial negotiation processes. Minimum Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline from a reputable institution. Minimum 10 years'' experience within mining, mining services, explosives, EPCM or a related technical environment . At least 5 years'' demonstrable experience preparing or managing complex mining tenders\/RFQs . Strong understanding of outsourced mining services and labour-intensive mining contracts. Demonstrated experience with commercial costing and pricing models. Strong understanding of mining labour structures, shift systems, overtime and mobilisation. Working knowledge of mine health and safety requirements, medicals, inductions, PPE and contractor compliance. Experience costing mining equipment, vehicles and\/or operational consumables will be highly advantageous. Advanced Microsoft Excel capability is essential. Excellent commercial writing and proposal-development skills.
