JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known International Plastics Manufacturing Company requires the above to oversee all technical matters country wide and manage the Technology Team whilst making key decisions for technical issues related to the production processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

A BEng or BTech degree in Chemical or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree is essential for this role.
Previous experience having worked as a Technical Leader or related within a similar role in a production centred business is essential.
Previous experience having worked in engineering management is essential.
Must be able to work in a high-pressure and deadline-driven environment.
Must have organisational, communication and reporting skills.
Must have working knowledge of the project management field.
Must have outstanding leadership skills and the ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Leading and coordinating technical resources within the Technology and Leveraged Operations Departments to include design, investigation, inspection, and project management services and activities.
Participating in process control standards compliance and safety audits (LPP, LOPA and SIL).
Enabling troubleshooting of plant related technical and operations challenges to assure minimum impact on plant operations.
Conducting regular technical and project management audits to ensure standards of engineering services are upheld.
Upgrading team skills and knowledge as new technologies become available.
Ensuring the Technology Team has a high level of technical knowledge that can be leveraged across the business.
Approving improvements to the operations processes.
Ensuring quality conformance to legal requirements with reference to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
Enabling technological advance tools to improve process simulations.
Actively be involved in Six Sigma.
Delegating technical responsibilities and monitoring the progress of projects.
Ensuring that projects are delivered consistently on time, and on budget.
Performing engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve operations.
Ensuring sign-off of all engineering packages at relevant stages of project management.
Assigning work activities and projects, monitoring workflow, reviewing and evaluating work products, methods, and procedures.
Interpreting the application of design criteria and checking plans and specifications for accuracy of design and completeness.
Reviewing design conformance and accuracy of project plans.
Ensuring the coordination of improvement projects with Project Managers and Engineers.
Developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods, utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
