JOB SUMMARY:
Our Client, a company with a focus on Gaming Solutions, and Online campaigns is currently on the market for a Software Analyst (MIS) to join their growing team.

Purpose of the Role:

Applications analysts serve as part of an organizations’ IT team, taking an analytic role to ensure that the computer application systems being used are meeting the needs of the organization. Aside from simply analyzing existing systems, this can also mean designing, developing, and implementing their iterations and replacements to try and better meet the goals of the organization, too. The purpose of this role also include the analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of application errors and problems. Primary role is to ensure that software, applications, data and information required by all stakeholders is available, and working as specified.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Develop and manage staff to monitor technology staff and oversee policies and procedures of the company.
  • Contribute to the development and successful delivery of an annual operating plan which supports the company’s’ mission, objectives and core values.
  • Lead and manage the MIS team, ensuring that staff are managed, trained, and motivated to meet the objectives and priorities of the service and the company.
  • Develop and embed quality standards and service level agreements for the MIS team ensuring these are maintained and the effectiveness monitored and reviewed.
  • Conduct training on MIS activities to increase staff expertise.
  • Supervise and motivate MIS team to work collectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with MIS team to ensure that technology, infrastructure and operational requirements are met.
  • Train the employees in using information systems and help them understand the configuration of the systems.
Management Information Systems:
  • Develop and analyze systems that are to be used by the employees and the managers of the company.
  • Develop strategies that are to be used in implementation of software and hardware systems in the organization.
  • Look after the maintenance of the computer systems and make sure that all the departments are functioning properly.
  • Collect necessary specifications for each department and make sure that their requirements are met.
  • Look after the purchase of the software and hardware systems and plan proper budget and quotations for the systems.
  • Provide training and necessary assistance for the employees involved in implementation and maintenance of the software systems.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and servicing of MIS system to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor MIS performance regularly to avoid unplanned outages and down times.
  • Provide customer support for OS issues, network problems and software installations
  • Plan and manage upgrades of hardware and software systems.
  • Track and monitor security of hardware and software systems.
  • Recommend and implement new technology solutions to improve productivity.
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of company’s’ business and technology requirements and needs.
  • Develop and maintain system plan including operational requirements, budget requirements and schedules
  • Develop and implement MIS policies to ensure data accuracy and security.
  • Develop and implement standardized MIS procedures across all business applications.

  • Current understanding & knowledge operating systems such as Android, Microsoft, Linux, Unix, DOS, etc.
  • Comprehensive system business requirements, system functionality and system testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot any kind of systems related problems and maintain security of the systems
  • Proficient working with the office applications, ERP software, communications systems, etc.
  • Expertise in planning and maintaining enterprise hardware and software
  • Ability to accept challenges and tackle difficult situations and meet the expected goals
  • Focused on best practices and models that are used in the industry and can be helpful in meeting the expectations of the employees
  • Good project management skills and ability to pay attention towards the qualitative and quantitative aspects
  • Experienced in managing information systems projects

Skills:

Experience:

  • 8 years + Information Technology
  • 6 years + QA software testing
  • 4 years + System software and/or applications (Support)
  • 4 years Technical System Administration & Support

Qualification:

  • NQF Level 7: Graduate Degree +
  • University degree in Information Technology
  • QA Test Analyst / Specialist Certification
  • MCSE, A+, N+ or equivalent technical certification
  • ITIL / ISO Advanced / Practitioner / Certification
  • ISO27001 Security Awareness
