Supply Chain Manager - Vegetable Seed

SUMMARY:
An established agrochemical manufacturer is is seeking the above to plan and manage supply chain operations related to supply planning, importation, warehousing, inventory management, transport logistics and distribution of vegetable seed in South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in international trade, sales order processing, warehousing and inventory control and logistics will be required
• Knowledge of product supply processes and related systems, including MS Office and SAP is mandatory
• Excellent people management, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a global, team based and matrix environment are essential
• Must have previous Supply Chain, Imports and Exports Logistics, International Trade and Customs Compliance experience
• Previous exposure to and handling of Seed and Agri-input chemicals will be an added advantage

• Implementing outstanding customer service strategies aimed at enhancing customer experience.
• Leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) at country level in liaison with commercial and marketing teams to ensure commercial budgets are met.
• Designing effective communication, collaboration and feedback mechanism with local and international teams, including preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
• Creating and following up on stock transfer orders (STOs) for timely seed delivery.
• Ensuring Import and Exports are managed efficiently.
• Maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, including application of import permits and letters of authorization for importation of seed.
• Monitoring and managing inventories at the distribution center, including SAP system movements, cyclic counts, quality testing and scrapping.
• Preparing budgets for the distribution center and managing expenses within budgets
• Providing outstanding customer services and ensuring customer satisfaction and DC management, including assets management and QMS implementation.
• Handling customer complaints in conjunction with the technical and quality teams.
• Establishing team management, couching, annual goals and objectives in coordination with corporate objectives.
• Liaising with suppliers/vendors and undertake vendor evaluation to ensure good service delivery while ensuring timely approval and payment of their invoices.
• Ensuring adherence to HSE standards and corporate policies.
