JOB DESCRIPTION:

Support Engineer (JB1892)

Century City

R10 000 – R12 000 per month

Brief Job Description

Taking ownership of user issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution

Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues

Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams

Daily checks

Support the IT team with projects when required

Duties

Desktop support for all users (all Sites) office hours/afterhours including weekends

Windows support

Printer installation and troubleshooting issues

User wifi issues

CCTV issues onsite and remote

Pulling of footage during office hours and after hours

All Building Internet and Wifi issues

Hardware Issues

Log service calls with external service providers

Turnstile issues

New User setup

Maintenance of Server Room

Telephonic support after hours

On call during weekends including all public holiday. (Telephonic, remote and going to site.

Responsible for requesting of quotes for IT Equipment

Responsible for insurance cover on IT equipment

Responsible for Stock control

Responsible for logging of insurance claims

Logging calls with vendors when links go down all buildings

Use of own vehicle to travel to different site

Receiving of IT equipment delivered

Asset tagging of IT equipment.

Network Troubleshooting ability:

Determine status of network connectivity

Check Power to equipment

Determine if the reason for a network failure (find network loops etc)

Port security violations (determine if there a shutdown port and why its been violated)

Test cable for breaks and latency (core uplinks, links to rooms etc)

Troubleshoot access point issues(No POE, Failed configuration etc)

Check switch status (determine status indicators references)

Determine WAN link failures or latency issues .

Must able to subnet (multiple networks onsite)

Determine contributing factors that affect WIFI signal (very common)

Ability to install and configure switches (very common after multiple power failures)

CCTV :

Know your way around the NVR

Camera trouble shooting (in most cases will require the removal and flashing of the unit)

Retrieval of cctv footage
