POSITION INFO:
Do you thrive on leading teams and driving technical excellence in a fast-paced professional services environment? We're looking for an experienced Tax Manager to take the reins of a busy tax department and help shape the future of tax compliance for a diverse client base. Why join this team? This role goes beyond compliance. You'll set the strategic direction for the tax department, build and mentor a strong team of tax professionals, and act as the trusted technical voice for clients and colleagues alike. It's a chance to combine hands-on technical work with genuine leadership impact. What you will be doing: Take full ownership of the management, performance, and strategic direction of the Tax Department Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the tax team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and professional growth Manage departmental workflow, resource allocation, deadlines, and client deliverables Stay actively involved in day-to-day tax compliance, including preparation, review, and submission of returns across all tax types Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices and raising professional standards What we are looking for: Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field Registered Tax Practitioner SAIT membership or another recognised professional tax accreditation Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience At least 5 years' management or supervisory experience Proven track record managing client tax portfolios and compliance processes Strong understanding of corporate tax compliance requirements Excellent knowledge of South African tax legislation and compliance requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team About us: We're a respected and growing professional services firm with a diverse client base spanning multiple industries.
