POSITION INFO:
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Technical Accountant to manage and support key financial reporting functions within our reinsurance operations. You will ensure compliance with international accounting standards, interpret complex reinsurance contracts, and assist in the implementation of evolving regulatory frameworks like IFRS 17

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with IFRS 17, SAM, and other relevant accounting standards.
Interpret reinsurance contracts and assess accounting implications.
Prepare and review technical accounting memos and position papers.
Collaborate with actuaries, finance, and underwriting teams on financial impact assessments.
Assist in external audits and regulatory reporting.
Support financial systems upgrades or ERP implementations aligned with technical accounting needs.
Analyze and explain variances in technical reserves and underwriting results.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting (Hons) or equivalent.
Minimum 3–5 years of post-articles experience in technical accounting, preferably within insurance or reinsurance.
Strong knowledge of IFRS (especially IFRS 17), SAM, and other regulatory frameworks.
Advanced Excel and experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
