Machineshop Technical Estimator
Area: Wadeville
POSITION INFO:
Requirements
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontractors, and equipment
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Compile professional quotation documents for clients
- Assist with tenders, project proposals, and costing breakdowns
- Work closely with HODs
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and help optimise processes
- Maintain and update pricing databases and cost records
- Communicate with clients to clarify technical requirements when necessary
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing
Minimum Requirements
- +- 10 years experience in estimating, costing, or a similar technical role
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problemâsolving skills
- Proficiency in computer skills (Excel essential)
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- High attention to detail
- Understanding of production processes and workflows
- Strong supplier management skills
