Warehouse Supervisor

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Diploma in Warehousing / Logistics / Supply Chain / Procurement or related fields (NQF 5)
• Up to 5 years’ experience in Warehousing/Inventory and Stock Control/Logistics/Supply Chain/Procurement in a Manufacturing environment of which 1 to 2 years should be at the Supervisory level
• Knowledge of relevant Stores / Warehousing / Logistics and Planning Processes and Practices
• Communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite and SAP, ERP Systems and other job-specific software systems)
• Supervisory Skills
• Problem Solving and Analytical skills
• Customer Focused
• Proactive, Action-oriented, Flexibility, Planning and Organising, Relationship Building, Resilient

Key Performance Areas

• Oversees and ensures a successful weekly cycle count of stock.
• Ensure monthly stocktake with production and support department teams.
• Ensures FIFO principles are applied during storage and issuing of stock
• Investigates stock variances and exceptions and implement an action plan.
• Assists Planning with the verification of receipts and issued goods
• Ensures product received for storage is accurately coded, compliant with procedures and Controls
• Ensures that all consignment stock procedures are being adhered
• A storage coding system in place and compliant with set procedures/standards.
• Ensures integrity of database information is maintained on SAP at all times.
• Ensures that daily, weekly and monthly health and safety check sheets are completed
• Document control and tracking system in place.
• Identifies and reports risks or areas of concern to management
• Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures
• Ensures that all health and safety regulations are adhered to in the warehouse.
• Maintains effective working relationships with customers
• Client/Customer/Employee satisfaction index
• Monitors and measures performance quarterly by conducting employee appraisals
• Contributes to the budget preparation process
• Monitors and controls expenditure against budget
