Accountant

SUMMARY:
A well-established organisation in the financial services sector is seeking a meticulous accounting professional to oversee payments processing, bank reconciliations, and the management of financial data across multiple accounts. This role is integral to ensuring timely payment execution, accurate transaction allocation within Sage, and the consistent maintenance of high-quality financial records. The successful candidate will bring a strong focus on accuracy and control, supporting dependable financial reporting for both management and the Board.

POSITION INFO:
Daily review and reconciliation of all bank accounts, including FNB, Nedbank, and Bank Windhoek Timely distribution of bank balances and statements to Directors and relevant stakeholders Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all payment transactions Prepare and manage internal payment tracking schedules Capture and prepare payment data for efficient Sage processing Import, post, and accurately allocate payment batches within Sage Ensure all invoices and supporting documentation are properly recorded and maintained Execute daily payment processing in line with strict cut-off times Prepare payments for approval and ensure all authorisations are obtained Process a range of payments, including supplier, transfer, urgent, and foreign payments Set up new suppliers in the system prior to payment processing when required Manage and process foreign and overseas payments, including currency tracking Perform detailed reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and supplier ledgers Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and within required timeframes Support reliable financial reporting through well-maintained records and organised documentation Skills & Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' solid experience within an accounting or finance function Demonstrated capability working with: Banking platforms such as FNB, Nedbank, or similar system Payment processing and bank reconciliations High-volume transaction environments with a strong focus on accuracy Exposure to multi-branch or multi-account structures will be considered an added advantage Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy Well-developed reconciliation abilities, complemented by effective problem-solving skills Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments while consistently meeting tight deadlines Highly organised with solid administrative capabilities Strong interpersonal skills, enabling clear communication and seamless coordination with a range of stakeholders Qualification: Matric with Accounting or Mathematics Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (Diploma or Degree) For more information connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Financial recruitment vacancies.
