Business Development Executive

SUMMARY:
Seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to drive new business growth across Africa within the supply chain and logistics sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven individual with extensive experience in multimodal logistics, cross-border supply chain solutions, and export projects across the African continent.
If you have a proven track record in solution selling, freight forwarding, and developing strategic client relationships.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field. Sales or Business Development qualifications will be advantageous. Experience 5-8 years' experience in Business Development or External Sales within Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Multimodal Transport. Proven success in acquiring new business and exceeding sales targets. Strong experience selling integrated logistics and supply chain solutions. Extensive knowledge of multimodal transport, including road, rail, sea, and air freight. Experience managing export projects and cross-border logistics throughout Africa. Industry experience within Mining, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Construction, Manufacturing, FMCG, Infrastructure, or related sectors is highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities Business Development Identify and secure new business opportunities across Africa. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sustainable revenue growth. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and networking. Conduct consultative sales engagements and design tailored supply chain and logistics solutions. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation and contract closure. Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell logistics services. Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Client Relationship Management Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers. Lead client onboarding and ensure exceptional customer experience. Conduct regular business reviews and identify opportunities for additional services. Work closely with operational teams to ensure successful service delivery. Market Development Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities across Africa. Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking forums. Develop market intelligence on pricing, customer requirements, and industry developments. Sales & Commercial Management Prepare professional proposals, tenders, pricing models, and customer presentations. Deliver compelling commercial presentations and negotiate agreements. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting. Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Marketing teams to ensure successful implementation of customer solutions.
