Chief Operating Officer (Opencast Mining)

SUMMARY:
Junior Mining company with opencast and underground mines throughout South Africa seeks to employ an experienced Chief Operations Officer with extensive Opencast Mining, Processing and Spiral Wash Operations Management experience. Immediately available or negotiable start highly advantageous

POSITION INFO:

• An Engineering degree or a Metallurgical processing degree
• Experience in metallurgical processing and mining are essential
• Open cast mining experience
• Underground mining experience
• Recent RSA mining experience
• Ability to travel extensively

• Strong management and leadership skills with a high degree of accountability

• Develop strong relationships with the DMRE, DWS, SAPS and the community
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and consultative skills 
• Highly analytical and strategic with the ability to appreciate the big picture and context, and effectively implement the same in practical terms
• Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Board, when required
• Ensure sound financial reporting from mines to Head Office
• Strong financial acumen and the ability to complete high-level analytical reporting
• Monitor and maintain operational budgets
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and associated permits
