Chief Operations Officer

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors you will be required to provide leadership and strategic vision and oversee overall functions for the company.

POSITION INFO:

You will bring operational, managerial and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls to the company. As COO you will effectively communicate and foster growth among the executive team and all employees. This is a vital leadership role that will drive results, spur growth and increase the overall efficiency of the organisation.

Qualifications & Knowledge:

• BA degree in Business or related management-focused
• Min 10 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• 5 years experience with leading a team in a similar position.
• 3 years of experience working on an ERP system.
• Advanced computer literacy and competency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Syspro will be an advantage.
• South African Citizen

Key Results Areas:

• Provide leadership, direction and management
• Design and implement business strategies and plans
• Provide input to the CEO on issues/mitigation steps to help the business achieve goals
• Support for overall delivery of the annual business plan
• Analyse business processes, develop cost-saving controls and initiate automation tasks.
• Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
• Communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Advising on long-term business and financial planning.
• Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor all open legal issues involving the company and legal issues affecting the industry
• Prepare relevant cyclical reports and presentations.
• Monitor statutory solvency requirements.
• Maintain banking relationships together with the CFO
• To understand the financial markets and their effects on short- and long-term plans.
• Participate in expansion activities, e.g., investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.
• Managing the process for financial forecasting and budgets together with the CFO
• Perform risk management by analysing the company’s liabilities and investments.
• Implement operational best practices.
• Ensure that company disciplinary and grievance procedures are followed.
• Manage direct reports according to company standards
• Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
