Finance Director (Operations Experience)

SUMMARY:
An established and growing group of companies is seeking a dynamic and commercially-minded Finance Director with strong operational experience to join their executive leadership team.

POSITION INFO:
This role is ideal for a qualified CA(SA) who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys combining strategic finance with operational involvement across multiple business entities.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO and COO, the successful candidate will play a critical role in driving financial performance, improving operational efficiencies, and contributing to the long-term growth strategy of the group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes across the group
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive management
• Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for profitability improvement and cost optimisation
• Oversee compliance, financial controls, and statutory reporting requirements
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders
• Evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and performance
• Assist with investment decisions, financial due diligence, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a collaborative culture
• Work closely with operational teams to improve workflows and resource allocation across the business

• Qualified CA(SA)
• Minimum 8 years’ finance experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a senior leadership role
• Proven experience managing multiple business entities
• Strong operational and commercial acumen
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to travel when required
• Experience with financial management systems and reporting tools
